• The Old Town (Stari Grad): Our Stari Grad is a beautiful maze of stone staircases, hidden courtyards, historic archways, and sudden viewpoints. What makes it special is how lived-in it feels. This is not a polished, museum-like old town—it is real Mediterranean life unfolding around you. You will see laundry hanging from balconies, locals chatting on doorsteps, and tiny cafés appearing just when you need a cold drink. Yes, there are a lot of steps, but every staircase leads to something beautiful, like the charming Belavista Square, the iconic Clock Tower, or the square in front of Saint Jerome’s Church with its stunning panoramic views.

• Kanli Kula (Bloody Tower): Sitting high above the Old Town, this 16th-century Ottoman fortress carries a dramatic history. Today, it serves as a peaceful open-air theater. The sweeping, uninterrupted views over the Bay of Kotor are especially magical at sunset. Entry is very affordable.

• Forte Mare (Sea Fortress): Located right along the promenade at the lower edge of the Old Town. Built in the 14th century by the Bosnian King Tvrtko I, it feels rugged and compact, offering fantastic views over the coastline and the open Adriatic Sea.

• Španjola Fortress: For an off-the-beaten-path experience, head high above the town to this atmospheric, unpolished fort. Built by the Ottomans and reinforced by the Spanish, it is surrounded by nature and feels entirely untamed. Note: Please check locally before heading up, as it occasionally closes for renovations. 

• Savina Monastery: Tucked away in a lush, green forest just above the town center, this historic monastery complex offers a peaceful, spiritual contrast to the bustling waterfront. The walk up through the trees is highly rewarding. Be sure to follow the path up to the old viewpoint above the church—from there, you will get a gorgeous view of the monastery’s stone roofs peeking through the greenery with the blue sea stretching endlessly beyond.

The beaches here are not long stretches of sand, but rather a series of small, clean pebble beaches and concrete swimming terraces tucked along the coastline. The swimming season lasts for an incredible 5 months—from May to October—with sea temperatures ranging from a pleasant 20°C to 26°C. The water is incredibly clear and always refreshing.

• Our Neighborhood (Savina Area): If you prefer a calmer, more relaxed vibe, we highly recommend the beaches closer to Savina, which are just a short walk from our properties. Our personal favorites are Golden Bay Beach (located right in front of Studio Jelic) and the nearby Tikki Beach, as well as Splendido Beach, Savina Beach, and the lovely public beach section next to Lazure Beach & Bar.
